by Reaper0Bot0 Sat Dec 06, 2008 at 08:26:22 PM PST If, as it appears, Congressman Jefferson goes down into defeat tonight I will be pleased. We don't need the seat badly enough to make re-electing the guy acceptable. Corruption hurts all of us, folks. We have to clean up our own house. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it makes us look bad to keep such a guy in our caucus. * Reaper0Bot0's diary :: :: * We won in 2006 based, at least in part, on "draining the swamp," on reform. We need to clean things up. Jefferson is entitled to his day in court. He isn't entitled to our support. People like that have no business in Congress in EITHER party. They found ninety grand in cash IN HIS FREEZER....guys, there's just no way that flies. Raise a glass to Congressman Cao. I wish him well. We'll probably knock him out in 2010 (it's a D+28 district), but losing one seat for one term is a price I'm willing to pay to get Jefferson out of office. Who here is with me? Just because he's in our party doesn't make what he did acceptable in the slightest. Not only does he make us look bad, but having in the caucus actually demeans us. |
